In fact, Thalia is air-tight solid for the bulk of its playing time -- until it suddenly segues into a three-song promotion for her upcoming English-language crossover album, that is. It's a shrewd move, commercially speaking, but it really pours a cold shower on what otherwise is a near-perfect album.

Solar Eyes Recognised as a mystical withdrawn masterpiece created by Irish electroacoustic pioneer Roger Doyle, the album Thalia's short-lived existence on CBS Classics was deemed a commercial failure in the eyes of blinkered major label suits but would further cement Doyle's.

Thalía is the eponymous debut solo album by Mexican singer of the same name, produced by Alfredo Diaz Ordaz and released in Mexico by Fonovisa Records in The album consisted of 80's rock, disco, pop, and ballads. The singles "Un Pacto Entre Los 2" and "Saliva" were highly controversial due to their suggestive themes, but were nonetheless highly successful, and are now considered Thalía.
